system for computer music by samuel.freeman

introduction

The system described on this site was developed as part of an ongoing PhD project (2009–2012).   This site provides a concise overview to the system as it stands: the purpose here is mostly to describe what there is in the system, whereas the why-s and how-s are more to be found at sdfphd.net (although overlap in the content of these two sites is inevitable).

To supplement these pages, a blog has been put in place where updates and changes will be logged; this provides an rss feed for anyone who may wish to follow this project.   The blog will also host commentary and examples to supplement these static informational pages.

sdf.sys_alpha

Please refer to the alpha subsection for an initial introduction to the system; while some aspects of the alpha-build are now redundant, the conceptual basis of the system is explained within that section.

sdf.sys_beta

The current version of the system is sdf.sys_beta, and the other subsections (listed below) deal with concepts embedded within sdf.sys_beta.
